Kannada outfits withdrew their strike call for Friday after their leaders met Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. This comes after the CM had urged Kannada organisations to call off the bandh called by them demanding a complete ban on activities of Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES). “Karnataka bandh is not appropriate,” Bommai had said.

In one of the Stories, his teammate Marnus Labuschagne was seen giving him chocolate to eat. “Not quite the evening I had planned, let’s be honest,” Smith said. Labuschagne also tried to open the door.

The ICC today announced the nominees for ICC Men’s ODI Player of the Year award, with no Indian making the cut. Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, Pakistan captain Babar Azam, South Africa’s Janneman Malan and Ireland’s Paul Stirling are the four cricketers nominated for the award. Delhi sees over 1,000 daily COVID cases after 7 months, 42% rise in 1 day

Delhi on Thursday reported 1,313 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, a 42% rise from Wednesday when the national capital logged 923 fresh coronavirus infections. Notably, the daily count of coronavirus cases crossed the 1,000 mark after seven months. No deaths were reported and 423 patients recovered, the bulletin said. Delhi’s positivity rate stands at 1.73%.

Maharashtra reports 198 new Omicron cases, 190 found in Mumbai alone

As many as 198 new Omicron cases were reported in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours on Thursday, taking the state-wide tally to 450. Of the new infections, 190 were reported in Mumbai alone, data from Public Health Department revealed. Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported 5,368 new COVID-19 cases, a jump of 1,468 from yesterday’s cases while 22 people died of COVID-19.

After 42-year-old Archana Reddy was hacked to death in front of her son on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Monday, police said the affair between her second husband Naveen and her daughter from first marriage Yuvika could have led to the crime. Yuvika was also demanding property which Archana was unwilling to give. So far, seven people have been arrested.

Los Angeles-based business manager Angela Kukawski, aged 55, whose clientele included names like rapper-singer Nicki Minaj, rapper Kanye West and the Kardashians, recently died in an alleged incident of homicide. She was found dead in the trunk of a car. Kukawski’s boyfriend, 49-year-old Jason Barker, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Man assaults bank staff in Delhi on being told to wear mask, video surfaces

A man allegedly assaulted a security guard at a bank in Delhi’s Chhatarpur area after he was refused entry for not wearing a mask. According to Delhi Police, the incident caused bank employees to intervene, after which the accused called his associates and assaulted staff at the bank. The accused and his associates also ransacked the bank.
