SRK fan in Egypt did booking without advance payment, says woman; tweet viral

Ashoka University professor Ashwini Deshpande said she was able to make bookings through a travel agent in Egypt without any advance payment as the latter was a Shah Rukh Khan fan. “He said: you’re from SRK’s [country]. I trust you…pay me later. For anywhere else, I wouldn’t do this. But anything for Shah Rukh,” said Deshpande in the now-viral tweet.

TMC promises up to ₹20 lakh credit without collateral to Goans

TMC and ally Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party have announced ‘Yuva Shakti Card’, a scheme promising credit up to ₹20 lakh at 4% interest to Goan people aged 18-45 years, ahead of polls. Goa TMC leader Kiran Kandolkar said the scheme will help provide financial support to people and won’t take any collateral. The government will act as guarantor, he added.

31.75 lakh kids in 15-18 age group eligible for vaccination in K’taka

Karnataka has 31.75 lakh children in the 15-18 age group who are eligible for the vaccination against COVID-19 in the state. The vaccination for the age group starts on Monday and around six lakh children will be vaccinated on the first day in Karnataka. CM Basavaraj Bommai will launch the drive at BBMP Higher Primary and Pre-University College in Bengaluru.

4 children injured after balloon seller’s cylinder explodes in a fair in MP

Five people, including four children, sustained injuries after a gas cylinder used to fill balloons exploded in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain on Sunday. The incident took place at a fair which was organised in the city to promote morning walks. As per an official, the incident occurred due to a wrong mixture of hydrogen gas in the cylinder.

After the postponement of SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, tickets from advance bookings from around the world worth ₹10 crore will reportedly be refunded. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh stated that ‘RRR’ can be released only after COVID-19 cases come down and cinema-going audience is ready. “₹10 crore worth…advance booking [means] people are eagerly waiting for the release,” said trade analyst Atul Mohan.
