Says Shiv Sena After Police Files Case Against Raj Thackeray for Inflammatory Speech
Maharashtra police chief Rajnish Seth said that the Aurangabad police commissioner will take appropriate legal action against Raj Thackeray over his speech against loudspeakers atop mosques.
As the controversy over loudspeaker snowballs in Maharashtra, Aurangabad Police on Tuesday registered a case against MNS chief Raj Thackeray for an inflammatory speech at a rally in the district on Sunday. According to the reports, the FIR names three other organisers of the rally. He has been charged under the Indian Penal Code for “wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot” and for “abetting the commission of an offence by the public or by more than ten persons”. During his public rally in Aurangabad, Thackeray had asked people to play Hanuman Chalisa outside mosques from May 4 if loudspeakers there were not removed. Sharing more information, Maharashtra police chief Rajnish Seth said that the Aurangabad police commissioner will take appropriate legal action against Raj Thackeray over his speech against loudspeakers atop mosques. Notices under section 149 of CrPC (preventing cognizable offences) have been issued to over 13,000 persons, he said. “Aurangabad CP is looking into the speech. He will take whatever legal action that is needed,” Seth told reporters, two days after Thackeray, at a rally in Aurangabad, called for “silencing” the loudspeakers from the mosques from May 4.

Porn Clip Played on Projector During Union Minister’s Event in Assam’s Tinsukia, Probe Underway
“I did not see the clip when it was screened. But my personal assistant informed me about this. I have directed that those involved in the incident be investigated and appropriate punishment be awarded”, Union Minister Rameshwar Teli stated.
Union Minister Rameshwar Teli, Assam labour minister Sanjay Kisan and several top Indian Oil officials were left red-faced as a pornographic clip incidentally played on the back screen at an event in Tinsukia. Notably, the ministers and officials had assembled for the pilot launch of methanol-blended M-15 petrol by Indian Oil at Hotel Mirana when the incident took place.Reports said that the objectionable clip started playing while an Indian Oil official was delivering his speech on the stage, while a projector screen, which was showing clips of the project — started playing a pornographic video. Soon the organisers rushed to stop the video. However, a few people were successful in recording the gaffe on their smartphones.
‘I Did Not See The Clip’
Speaking to CNN-News 18 about the incident, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameshwar Teli said: “I did not see the clip when it was screened. But my personal assistant informed me about this. I have directed that those involved in the incident be investigated and appropriate punishment be awarded.”
‘Probe On’
Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the Tinsukia police station. Police officials informed CNN-News 18 that the organisers had also planned to live-stream the event online and for Zoom meeting ID and passcode were shared by Indian Oil officials on their Twitter account. Debojit Deori, Tinsukia Superintendent of Police said, “The culprit most probably used the meeting ID and passcode from the Twitter account and joined the Zoom meeting as a participant. He then streamed the obscene videos in the Zoom meeting.”

Indian-origin teenager jailed in UK for crashing stolen Range Rover
The teenager ran away from the scene of the crash but was later arrested after police officers forensically identified him and tracked his mobile phone.
An Indian-origin teenager was sentenced to four years in jail for driving a stolen Range Rover the wrong way down a tunnel in London and then causing a head-on collision, Scotland Yard said on Tuesday. Johal Rathour, 18, was identified by the Metropolitan Police’s Road and Transport Policing Command after he caused the crash in the early hours of August 6 last year and was sentenced at St. Albans Crown Court in north London last Friday. The Met Police said “luckily” no serious injuries were caused to the driver of the Mercedes van Rathour crashed into. “Rathour was guilty of an incredibly dangerous piece of driving and it was a miracle that nobody was seriously injured,” said Police Constable Adam Lamb, the investigating officer in the case. “Watching the video of him driving the wrong way through the tunnel is very distressing as it seems inevitable that a fatal collision would happen. As well as the damage to the stolen vehicle and the van he collided with, Rathour also disrupted and delayed the journeys of thousands of people using Blackwall Tunnel on the day of the crash,” he said. The court was told that Rathour caused GBP 80,000 of damage to the Mercedes van he crashed into and the stolen Range Rover he was driving. He also caused a total loss of revenues worth GBP 585,000 to Transport for London, due to the busy Blackwall Tunnel in east London having to be shut for more than two hours during rush hour. Rathour ran away from the scene of the crash but was later arrested after police officers forensically identified him and tracked his mobile phone. After he was charged with the offences of theft and dangerous driving, Rathour failed to attend court. He was subsequently tracked down and arrested by Met Police officers from the East Area Command Unit in January this year and has now ended in a custodial sentence.
A visit to Bengaluru on Tuesday by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, which was expected to provide an indication regarding the BJP’s strategy for the 2023 Assembly polls, did not yield any outcome, with meetings scheduled for him with the state BJP core committee and party leaders cancelled. Shah arrived in Bengaluru on Monday night, amid speculation that this could finally lead to a change of Chief Minister and the state Cabinet, which has been speculated upon for long. The senior BJP leader was scheduled to attend a lunch hosted by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai for BJP ministers, MLAs and MPs at his residence, and chair separate meetings of the BJP state core committee, party functionaries and various party units. The meetings were scheduled to spell out strategies for the 2023 Assembly polls and indicate the possible changes in government. But after the lunch at Bommai’s official residence, the meetings with the party units were abruptly cancelled. BJP sources said the cancellation suggested that a consensus could not be reached on a leadership change in Karnataka. Several BJP leaders, including former CM B S Yediyurappa, party state in-charge Arun Singh and state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, incidentally stated on Tuesday that there would be no change of CM in Karnataka. Yediyurappa added that there might be changes in the state Cabinet though in a few days. For days now, there has been speculation – also fuelled from within BJP ranks — that the BJP will go in for a complete change of the Cabinet in Karnataka, like it had done in Gujarat.
Their shakha vs our shakha: AAP to take rashtrawad battle against RSS to maidans, mohallas in UP
The Tiranga Shakhas also go one step further – by drawing a parallel with the RSS’s model of shakhas in both the name of the meetings, the members called ‘pramukhs’ organising them, and the way AAP will be holding them.
Men and women will gather, read aloud the Preamble to the Constitution and recount the stories of Independence movement icons, before taking up subjects of topical interest, from inflation to unemployment — under the aegis of the Tricolour. Come July, such scenes are likely to play out across village maidans and town squares of Uttar Pradesh, with the Aam Aadmi Party planning “Tiranga Shakhas”, in what the party claims is a bid to counter the BJP’s nationalistic push, and strengthen its organisational presence in the country’s most populous state. AAP leaders say the idea also fits into the larger canvas of the party’s campaigns centred around “real rashtrawad (nationalism)” — from Tiranga Yatras, to installation of high-mast Tricolours across Delhi, to the introduction of a deshbhakti curriculum in schools, to raising issues like health and education. The Tiranga Shakhas also go one step further – by drawing a parallel with the RSS’s model of shakhas in both the name of the meetings, the members called ‘pramukhs’ organising them, and the way AAP will be holding them. Plus, the unfurling of the Tricolour at AAP meetings will highlight the fact that the RSS hoists its own flag at its shakhas. The Sangh’s adversaries often accuse it of putting its dhwaj before the Tiranga. “I will launch the first such tiranga shakha in Lucknow on July 1. Our shakhas will be open to every gender, every community, every caste. High school children can also participate,” AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, credited with being the brain behind the initiative, said.At the RSS daily shakhas, numbering more than 65,000 across the country, the saffron dhwaj is unfurled and volunteers perform a ‘dhwaj pranam (salute to it)’ through songs. After that, under the supervision of a ‘baudhhik pramukh’, volunteers express their views on social issues, while a ‘sharirik pramukh’ leads the members in physical exercises for fitness. After the shakha, the dhwaj is brought down and safely kept away.
