Karnataka announces 10 pm to 5 am night curfew for 10 days from Dec. 28
The Karnataka government has decided to impose a night curfew in the state, from 10 pm to 5 am, for 10 days starting from December 28. This comes in view of a fresh surge in COVID-19 cases, including Omicron variant cases. Health Minister K Sudhakar announced that hotels, pubs and other eating joints will have to operate with 50% capacity.
Salman Khan gets bitten by snake at his farmhouse, discharged after treatment
Ahead of his birthday, Salman Khan had taken off to his Panvel farmhouse, where he has been bitten by a non-venomous snake. The incident took place on early Sunday morning. The actor was taken to MGM hospital at Kamothe for treatment and he was discharged at 9 am today. The snake bit Salman Khan’s hand but he is doing better now. An anti-venom medicine was administered to him and after a few hours of observation the actor was allowed to go home.
It is a tradition of sorts for the actor to celebrate his birthday at his lavish Panvel farmhouse. And in all probability Salman may host a close-knit party tonight. Last year for most part of the lockdown, Salman Khan was stationed at his Panvel farmhouse, which is named after his sister Arpita Khan Sharma. The actor had shared several pictures and videos of him working in the farm and sowing seeds. Salman Khan had also shot for a song with Jacqueline Fernandez at his farmhouse last year.
T’gana bans public gatherings till Jan 2, New Year’s party
Telangana government has banned rallies and public gatherings till January 2. The government said other events involving congregation of people will be permitted, however, the organizers should ensure physical distancing at the venue, should not allow any person who is not wearing a face mask, and should arrange IR thermometers/thermal scanners at entry points to scan persons entering the venue.
India announce their playing XI for 1st Test against South Africa
India have won the toss and elected to bat first in the first Test against South Africa in Centurion. Both Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have been picked in the playing XI. India’s bowling attack comprises Mohammed Siraj, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin and Shardul Thakur. KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal will open for India.

Tutu was diagnosed with prostate cancer in the late 1990s and in recent years he was hospitalised on several occasions to treat infections associated with his cancer treatment.
BJP MP Pragya Thakur, who’s out on bail on medical grounds, plays cricket
A video has surfaced showing Bhopal BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur playing cricket in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal, her constituency. The BJP MP, who’s usually seen moving in a wheelchair, is out on bail in the Malegaon blasts case on medical grounds. Earlier, videos of her playing basketball, kabaddi and garba had surfaced.
Looked at old pics for hours: Ranveer’s hairstylist on getting ’83’ look right
Actor Ranveer Singh’s hairstylist Darshan Yewalekar said that making Ranveer look like Kapil Dev in the movie ’83’ was pressurising. “Ranveer and director Kabir Khan said it can’t be fake…What followed was hours of looking at old photos from that time [1983]…One look test didn’t do…We had to do at least half a dozen. The pressure was immense,” he said.
Govt accepted my suggestion for COVID vaccine booster dose: Rahul Gandhi
